The Central Railway Board has granted approval for the long-awaited Nedumbassery Airport Railway Station, marking a major step toward fulfilling the decades-old dream of Cochin International Airport passengers.
The approval follows a recent meeting between Union Minister George Kurian and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, during which the latter assured that all procedures for the station’s construction would be fast-tracked.
The project gained momentum after Railway Minister Vaishnaw’s window-trailing inspection last year, where he personally reviewed the proposed site in the presence of Minister George Kurian.
Describing the development as a historic milestone, George Kurian extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their decisive steps in advancing the project.
Once completed, the Nedumbassery Airport Railway Station will significantly enhance convenience and connectivity for millions of domestic and international travelers using Cochin International Airport, making it one of the most accessible airports in the country.
