Bumrah and Shami Return as BCCI Unveils India’s Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

In a major boost to India’s bowling attack, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, starting February 19, 2025. The squad sees the much-anticipated return of star pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Bumrah, recovering from back spasms sustained during the recent Test series against Australia, has been declared fit to play. Mohammed Shami also makes his comeback after a long injury layoff due to ankle surgery.

Leading the squad will be seasoned captain Rohit Sharma, with rising star Shubman Gill stepping in as vice-captain. Adding fresh energy to the lineup, young talent Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned his first-ever ODI call-up, opening doors for his international debut.

India is set to kick off its Champions Trophy campaign on February 20 with a thrilling face-off against Bangladesh, raising excitement among cricket fans worldwide.
