The Central Government has launched “Bharat Taxi”, a new ride-hailing service positioned as a strong alternative to Ola, Uber, and Rapido. The service was inaugurated today by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Unlike private taxi aggregators that charge drivers commissions of up to 30 percent, Bharat Taxi follows a zero-commission model, allowing drivers to earn more while offering cheaper rides for passengers. The move is expected to make everyday travel more affordable, especially in major cities.
Safety is a key focus of the new platform. Bharat Taxi will function in close coordination with the Delhi Police, incorporating features such as verified drivers, real-time GPS tracking, and emergency support to ensure secure travel for passengers.
Built on a cooperative model, Bharat Taxi aims to become a nationwide, people-friendly transport solution, challenging the dominance of private cab apps. With its promise of lower fares, higher driver earnings, and enhanced safety, the service is being seen as a game-changer in India’s urban mobility landscape.
