Bengali film actor Swastika Mukherjee was questioned by police on Saturday in connection with a case related to alleged social media posts made after the 2021 West Bengal Assembly election results, officials said.
Mukherjee was questioned for nearly an hour at the Gariahat Police Station in south Kolkata.
The case was filed against Mukherjee and actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay following a complaint lodged by an advocate on May 21.
According to police officials, the complaint alleged that social media remarks made by the two actors after the 2021 election results contributed to an atmosphere that fuelled violence in the state.
