Australia Now Has the World’s Most Expensive Passport

Australia has overtaken other countries with the highest passport fee, charging £192 (₹19,481) for a 10-year adult passport. This price exceeds that of Mexico (£142), Switzerland (£117), and Italy (£113). While the U.S. charges $130 (around ₹10,000), Australia’s passport cost remains the highest globally. The price increase reflects the country’s efforts to enhance passport security and modernize its systems, solidifying the Australian passport as one of the most valuable in terms of global access.
