AMMA Rejects Kerala Film Strike, Expresses Willingness for Talks on Remuneration

Kochi: The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has rejected the proposed strike in the Malayalam film industry while expressing openness to discussions on remuneration concerns with the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA).

The dispute over actors’ remuneration and production costs has intensified in recent weeks, leading to calls for a strike by various industry stakeholders. However, AMMA has made it clear that halting film productions is not a viable solution and urged all parties to engage in constructive dialogue.

While KFPA has raised concerns over rising actor fees affecting the financial viability of film projects, AMMA maintains that remuneration should be determined through mutual discussions rather than abrupt industry shutdowns.

As tensions escalate, AMMA and KFPA are expected to hold further discussions in the coming days to reach a resolution that balances both artistic and commercial interests.
