New Delhi: The investigation into the tragic Ahmedabad plane crash has taken a significant step forward, with crucial data from the aircraft’s black box now retrieved and under analysis. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) accessed and downloaded vital information from the crash-protected memory module on June 25, offering new insights into the fatal incident.
The Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) are currently being analyzed to reconstruct the chain of events that led to the crash. The effort is part of a comprehensive investigation being led by the AAIB Director General, with a multi-disciplinary team of experts on board.
The probe, which began on June 13, aims to uncover what transpired in the final moments before the crash, determine its root cause, and propose preventive safety measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
The high-level team includes specialists in aviation medicine, air traffic control, and technical advisors from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB)—a collaboration prompted by the fact that the crashed Air India aircraft was U.S.-manufactured.
As investigators delve deeper into the black box data, the aviation world watches closely, hoping the findings will not only explain what went wrong but also lead to stronger safeguards in global air travel.
