Veteran actress and political leader Gautami has approached the Chennai Police Commissioner, claiming that her life is in danger due to escalating threats linked to a high-value property dispute. In a formal petition, she appealed for immediate police protection, citing serious concerns for her safety.
According to Gautami, a man identified as Alagappan has illegally occupied her property in Neelankarai, valued at approximately ₹9 crore. Acting on a court order, authorities have since sealed the property, but the threats have reportedly continued.
The actress revealed she received intimidating messages on WhatsApp and alleged that individuals impersonating lawyers attempted to extort bribes under the pretense of removing unauthorized constructions. Additionally, she said threatening posters had been circulated, warning of protests over the land issue.
Gautami, once a prominent member of the BJP, left the party last year accusing top leaders of shielding the accused in her property case. She has since joined the AIADMK.
Calling the threats “persistent and dangerous,” Gautami urged the police to act swiftly. Authorities have reportedly begun an inquiry into the allegations.
