AAP Protests Outside Delhi CM’s Office, Demands BJP Fulfill ₹2,500 Aid Promise to Women

New Delhi – AAP leader Atishi, along with several party MLAs, staged a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s office, demanding the immediate rollout of the BJP’s pre-election promise to provide ₹2,500 in monthly financial aid to women beneficiaries.

The protest comes after CM Gupta alleged that the previous AAP administration had left an “empty public exchequer,” making it difficult to implement the scheme immediately. Atishi, however, dismissed these claims, insisting that AAP had left behind a fiscally strong government and urging the BJP to act on its commitment without delay.

The ₹2,500 monthly assistance was a key pledge in the BJP’s campaign ahead of the February 5, 2025, Delhi Assembly elections. Despite winning a massive 48 out of 70 seats and ending AAP’s decade-long rule, the BJP has yet to roll out the scheme. Atishi emphasized that Delhi’s women are eagerly waiting for the financial support they were promised.

As tensions rise, AAP has vowed to keep pressure on the BJP government, ensuring that it delivers on its electoral commitments without further postponement.
