Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Rajendra Arlekar has asked the Digital University and the Technical University to share the legal expenses incurred in the Supreme Court case over Vice Chancellor appointments.
In a letter from Raj Bhavan, both universities have been instructed to contribute ₹5.5 lakh each, covering a total of ₹11 lakh in lawyer’s fees.
The Governor had independently approached the Supreme Court after the Kerala High Court struck down the temporary VC appointments of the two universities. Now, Raj Bhavan has directed that the cost of the litigation be borne by the institutions themselves.
