New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17 with a fortnight-long series of nationwide events under the banner of “Seva Pakhwada” (Fortnight of Service).
Running from September 17 to October 2, the programs will highlight themes of “Swadeshi” (local products) and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India), coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
Union Minister Bhupender Yadav and BJP General Secretary Sunil Bansal announced that both the central government and BJP-ruled states will actively participate in the celebrations, which are designed to combine service, social outreach, and national pride.
The schedule also commemorates the birth anniversaries of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay (September 25) and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri (October 2).
Planned initiatives include local product exhibitions, a painting competition on the theme “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India), tree plantation drives, blood donation and health camps, and large-scale cleanliness campaigns across the country.
