Kochi: Rapper Vedan, legally known as Hirandas Murali, is set to undergo another round of police interrogation today in connection with a young doctor’s complaint accusing him of sexual exploitation under the guise of marriage.
On Tuesday, the Thrikkakara Police grilled the rapper for nearly six and a half hours. Vedan, who appeared before the investigation team at 10 a.m., left only by 4:15 p.m. Choosing not to engage with the media, he remarked that he could not comment since the case is under judicial consideration.
Today’s questioning will continue based on a detailed 114-point questionnaire prepared by investigators, led by Thrikkakara SHO Kiran C. Nair. The Kerala High Court has already granted Vedan anticipatory bail in the case.
The complainant alleges that between August 2021 and March 2023, Vedan sexually abused her at multiple locations including Kozhikode and Kochi, after promising marriage but later withdrawing. She also claims he defrauded her of ₹31,000 under the pretext of releasing a song.
