Former Kerala CM V.S. Achuthanandan in Critical Condition; CM Pinarayi Vijayan Visits Hospital

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan remains in critical condition following a heart attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. On Sunday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited the hospital to inquire about his predecessor’s health. He also spoke with Achuthanandan’s family members and the team of doctors overseeing the treatment, but made no public statement regarding the former CM’s condition.

CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan also visited the hospital, which is treating the veteran leader. According to medical sources, V.S. Achuthanandan’s condition remains extremely serious, and he is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) by a team of specialist doctors.

The 100-year-old leader was admitted to SUT Hospital on June 23 following a heart attack. His life is currently being sustained with life support systems. In recent days, his health has deteriorated further, and he is no longer able to continue dialysis, according to hospital sources.
