PM Modi Reaffirms Commitment to Empowering Youth Through Skill India Mission

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated the central government’s unwavering commitment to equipping India’s youth with skills that promote self-reliance, innovation, and global competitiveness. Speaking on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day (July 15), the Prime Minister emphasized the pivotal role of the Skill India Mission in shaping a future-ready workforce and driving the country’s economic growth.

“India’s strength lies in its youth. Through the Skill India Mission, we are empowering young people with practical, job-ready skills that are in tune with the demands of both domestic and global industries,” said PM Modi.

Launched in 2015, the Skill India Mission has already trained millions of youth across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, digital technology, and renewable energy. The government aims to continue expanding the initiative through public-private partnerships, updated curriculum, and international collaborations.

The Prime Minister highlighted recent milestones achieved under the mission, including the establishment of new skill development centers, international skill hubs, and initiatives to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

“Skilled youth are the foundation of a developed India,” Modi stated, calling on all stakeholders — educational institutions, industry leaders, and state governments — to contribute actively to skill development efforts.

As India gears up for a technology-driven future, the government sees skill enhancement as a critical pathway to employment, entrepreneurship, and national progress.
