Suspected Nipah Case Triggers Fresh Health Alert in Kerala; Palakkad Woman Under Observation

Palakkad- A potential Nipah virus case has sparked fresh concerns in Kerala after a 38-year-old woman from Nattukal, Palakkad, was hospitalized with symptoms resembling the deadly infection. The woman is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Perinthalmanna.

Her condition prompted immediate action from health officials, who have sent her samples to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for detailed testing and confirmation. The source of the suspected infection remains unknown, raising concerns about possible undetected transmission.

In response, the Health Department has placed all individuals who were in close contact with the patient under observation. While her current health status has not been officially disclosed, authorities are on high alert and have intensified monitoring efforts to prevent any potential outbreak.
