Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated Diwali with soldiers of the Trishakti Corps (33 Corps) deployed in the forward areas of Sikkim on Sunday.

He was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, Eastern Command General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lieutenant General VMB Krishnan, 33 Corps General Officer Commanding Lieutenant General Man Raj Singh Mann and other senior Army officers.

Interacting with the soldiers at Sherathang, Rajnath Singh described them as the brightest lights of Diwali, saying their dedication and constant vigilance along the borders ensured the security of the entire nation.

He said soldiers performed their duties silently, just like lamps that dispel darkness without seeking attention, enabling citizens across the country to celebrate festivals in peace and security.

The Defence Minister appreciated the commitment and sacrifices of the Army personnel guarding the country’s borders and extended his Diwali greetings to them.
