New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh on their birth anniversaries, recalling their contributions to the nation.
Remembering Lata Mangeshkar, popularly known as Lata Didi, Modi said her exceptional singing talent brought recognition and glory to India across the world. He said her melodious voice enriched the country’s cultural heritage and noted her continued support for initiatives connected with the nation’s development.
The Prime Minister said Lata Mangeshkar’s contribution to Indian music was unparalleled and would continue to be remembered by generations.
Paying tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Modi recalled his courage and sacrifice during India’s freedom struggle. He said Bhagat Singh’s determination and bravery gave fresh momentum to the independence movement.
Modi also noted that Bhagat Singh’s willingness to sacrifice everything for the honour of the nation continues to symbolise courage and determination among India’s youth.
