New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated a number of Indian athletes after their medal-winning performances at the Asian Games 2026.
Modi congratulated Vithya Ramraj on winning the bronze medal in the women’s 400m hurdles and praised her performance. He wished the athlete continued success in the coming years.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Gulveer Singh, who secured silver in the men’s 1500m with a personal-best performance. Modi said the achievement made the medal particularly special and noted that the country was proud of him.
Parul Chaudhary was congratulated for winning bronze in the women’s 5000m. Modi said her achievement would serve as an inspiration for young athletes.
In the javelin throw, Yashvir Singh won silver with a personal best, while Rohit Yadav claimed bronze. Modi congratulated both athletes and described their performances as a notable result for Indian athletics.
Murali Sreeshankar was also congratulated after securing a medal in the men’s long jump. Modi praised his podium finish and wished him further success.
In Kurash, Pinkcy Balhara won bronze in the women’s 78kg category. The Prime Minister praised her determination and fighting spirit during the competition.
Modi also congratulated Esha Singh after she won silver in the women’s 25m pistol individual event. He praised her precision and composure and wished her success in future competitions.
The Prime Minister conveyed his congratulations through separate posts shared by his office on social media.
