Kolkata: BJP national president Nitin Nabin tried his hand at preparing Kolkata’s popular street snack jhalmuri during his two-day visit to West Bengal on Monday.
Nabin joined a local preparation of the spicy puffed-rice snack and made the dish himself before tasting it. He later shared a 56-second video of the moment on social media with the caption, “Tried my hand at Kolkata’s famous Jhalmuri!”
The episode also evoked memories of Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoying jhalmuri during his election campaign in West Bengal earlier this year.
Nabin’s visit to the state comes as the BJP continues its organisational activities in West Bengal. The jhalmuri episode added a local and informal touch to his tour, drawing attention on social media.
