New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his September edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, highlighted the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Surgical Strike, India’s ongoing census exercise and the birth centenary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal.
Recalling the September 28-29, 2016 operation, Modi said the Indian Army’s action against terrorist hideouts across the Line of Control demonstrated India’s approach to counter-terrorism. He said India has maintained a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism over the past decade.
The Prime Minister also urged citizens to participate in the census, saying data from more than 32 crore families had already been recorded. He encouraged people to use the online self-enumeration facility available through the census portal.
Modi also paid tribute to Ashok Singhal on his 100th birth anniversary, recalling his contribution to cultural and social causes and his role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
