Patna: More than 48 lakh people continued to be affected by floods in Bihar on Sunday, even as water levels in most rivers that had crossed the danger mark began to recede, officials said.
The decline in river levels brought some relief to flood-hit areas, but a large number of people remained affected by the inundation across the state.
Bihar has recorded 111.7 mm of rainfall so far in September, around 13 per cent above the normal average for the month, according to officials.
