Paris: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the first International Space Summit in Paris, France, via video conference, thanking French President Emmanuel Macron for the initiative and invitation.
Modi called for greater international cooperation to ensure a safe, secure, peaceful and sustainable space environment, stressing that global partnerships must focus on long-term sustainability.
Highlighting India’s space philosophy rooted in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he said scientific data should be shared openly and used for the common good.
The Prime Minister also highlighted ISRO’s contributions to weather forecasting, disaster management and navigation, noting that Indian rockets have successfully deployed more than 430 payloads from 34 countries.
He praised generations of Indian scientists, engineers and technicians for establishing ISRO as a globally respected and cost-effective space agency.
