New Delhi: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Sunday called for accountability and a comprehensive safety audit of paying guest (PG) hostels across Delhi following the collapse of a five-storey hostel building in Satya Niketan that left five people dead and several others trapped.
CJP founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke questioned the government’s priorities, alleging that students were being made to live and study in unsafe conditions while political establishments continued to receive greater attention and resources.
A CJP team led by organisation co-in-charge and North Zone head Deepak Baliyan, along with national joint secretary Balakrishna Shukla, visited the collapse site near Delhi University’s South Campus.
The party members joined local residents and emergency responders involved in rescue operations and called for stronger safety measures to prevent similar incidents.
