Odisha Launches E-Detection System to Track Vehicles Without Pollution Certificates

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has introduced an online e-detection system to identify vehicles operating without valid Pollution Under Control Certificates (PUCC) and insurance, officials said on Sunday.

State Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur said the new system became operational on September 1 as part of efforts to strengthen enforcement of road and vehicle regulations.

Under the system, vehicles found running without a valid PUCC or insurance will be electronically flagged, following which an e-challan will be issued against the vehicle owners in accordance with existing rules and electronic enforcement procedures.

The initiative is aimed at improving compliance with mandatory vehicle documentation and enabling stricter monitoring of vehicles on Odisha’s roads.
