New Delhi: In a first, the Department of Posts on Friday delivered the National Flag by drone from Mandi to Rehardhar in Himachal Pradesh on the eve of Independence Day, showcasing the use of technology in public service.
The initiative was virtually launched by Union Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, according to an official release.
Scindia witnessed the live drone take-off from the Mandi Head Post Office and interacted with postal officials and the drone operator.
The initiative combined the spirit of patriotism with technological innovation and aimed to demonstrate the potential of drone technology in delivering postal services to remote and difficult-to-reach areas.
