Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is set to chair a meeting of the state’s Members of Parliament on Saturday to discuss the Centre’s proposed delimitation exercise and its potential impact on Tamil Nadu.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai at 3 pm. The discussions are expected to focus on the proposed delimitation exercise and concerns over its possible implications for the state’s representation in Parliament.
However, MPs belonging to the ruling DMK are set to boycott the meeting, according to government sources.
Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar had sent separate invitations to the state’s MPs on August 6 and 7, the sources said.
