Jamnagar: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the creation of a separate Ministry of Cooperation by the Narendra Modi-led government has infused new energy and momentum into India’s cooperative movement.
Speaking after virtually inaugurating Sahakar Bhavan, the newly built headquarters of the Jamnagar District Cooperative Bank, Shah said the dedicated ministry has strengthened the cooperative sector and accelerated its development. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the event.
Shah emphasized that modernization is crucial for building a stronger cooperative system. He said the process begins with upgrading the headquarters, infrastructure, and functioning of cooperative institutions, enabling them to better serve members and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
