134 Roads Closed in Himachal as Heavy Rains Trigger Landslides; Orange Alert Issued

Heavy rains continued to disrupt normal life in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, with 134 roads remaining closed due to landslides and flash floods. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in four districts from July 28 to 30.

The Shimla Meteorological Centre also warned of a low to moderate risk of flash floods in parts of Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts until Sunday morning, cautioning about possible flooding in low-lying and waterlogged areas. Since the onset of the monsoon on June 30, landslides and flash floods have claimed 15 lives in the state.
