New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that the Union Cabinet will take up the proposed anti-paper leak bill at its meeting today, paving the way for its introduction in Parliament next week.
In a video message, the Prime Minister said the proposed legislation, which aims to provide for stringent action against those involved in examination paper leaks, will be discussed by the Cabinet before being finalised.
“The Cabinet will discuss the issue of paper leaks today. Based on the suggestions of my Cabinet colleagues, the legislation will be finalised,” Modi said.
The proposed bill is expected to introduce tougher legal provisions to curb examination paper leaks and strengthen the integrity of recruitment and competitive examinations across the country.
Following the Cabinet’s approval, the government is expected to introduce the bill in Parliament next week. The move comes amid growing concerns over repeated paper leak incidents affecting recruitment and entrance examinations in several states.
