Kalladi Landslide: Search for Missing Workers Continues for Fourth Day

Kalladi: Rescue teams continued search operations for the fourth consecutive day on Friday to locate the workers still missing after the devastating landslide at Kalladi.

With the recovery of three more bodies on Thursday, the death toll in the tragedy has risen to six. Search efforts are being led by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire and Rescue Services, and the police.

Officials said today’s operations are focused on Zones 1 and 3 of the landslide-affected area. Two workers are still unaccounted for, and rescue personnel are continuing intensive searches despite challenging conditions.

Meanwhile, reports have emerged alleging serious negligence by the contracting company. According to the reports, the Geological Survey of India (GSI) had earlier warned about cracks developing in the retaining wall at the site, but the contractor allegedly ignored the warning, raising questions over safety measures before the incident.
