Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh on Monday conferred the prestigious Governor’s Unit Citation on the 20th Battalion of the Assam Rifles in recognition of its distinguished service, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the state’s security during its deployment.
Presenting the citation at an investiture ceremony held at Lok Bhawan in Aizawl, the Governor lauded the battalion for its exemplary performance and significant contribution to maintaining peace and security in Mizoram.
He particularly commended the battalion’s exceptional role in protecting the Indo-Myanmar border during a period marked by complex security challenges and regional instability. Singh said the unit had displayed remarkable professionalism and dedication in strengthening border security and ensuring stability in the region.
