President Confers Padma Awards on Mammootty, Rohit Sharma, Satish Shah and Other Distinguished Personalities

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious Padma Awards on several eminent personalities during the second Civil Investiture Ceremony held at the Ganatantra Mandap of Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

Among the awardees were acclaimed actor Mammootty, actor Satish Shah, Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma, playback singer Alka Yagnik, and tennis legend Vijay Amritraj.

The President also presented the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour, to former Supreme Court judge K T Thomas for his contributions to public affairs, and to veteran Malayalam journalist P Narayanan for his contributions to literature and education.

The Padma Bhushan awardees included Mammootty, Alka Yagnik, American oncologist Dattatreyudu Nori, Vijay Amritraj, industrialist S K M Maeilanandhan, and social worker and educationist Vellappally Natesan.

The Padma Awards are among India’s highest civilian honours and are presented annually to recognize exceptional achievements and distinguished service across various fields, including arts, literature, education, public affairs, science, sports, medicine, and social work.
