New Delhi: The NEET-UG re-examination will be held tomorrow, with the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducting a nationwide mock drill today in selected cities to assess preparedness and security arrangements.
Officials said that more than two lakh security personnel will be involved in the exercise. The mock drill is aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the security measures put in place ahead of the examination and ensuring the smooth conduct of the test across the country.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old NEET aspirant died by suicide in Ghaziabad, reportedly due to stress related to the examination. According to officials, the student, identified as Jitin Kumar, had unsuccessfully attempted the exam six times.
In a video recorded before his death, Jitin reportedly stated that he was taking the extreme step because he had been unable to clear the examination despite repeated attempts. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over the intense pressure faced by students preparing for competitive entrance examinations.
