President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will jointly launch and inaugurate development projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore in Odisha on Saturday, officials said.
President Murmu, who arrived in the state on Friday evening, will join the Prime Minister at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district for the event. The occasion is significant as it marks a rare instance of both the President and the Prime Minister participating together in a major development programme.
The projects cover a wide range of sectors, including energy, industrial infrastructure, roads, drinking water supply, healthcare, education, tourism, and irrigation. The launch coincides with the second anniversary celebrations of the BJP government in Odisha.
According to officials, the initiatives are expected to boost infrastructure development, improve public services, and accelerate economic growth across the state.
