PM Modi Reiterates Commitment to Farmers’ Welfare and Modern Agriculture

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the lives of farmers and strengthening the agricultural sector through modern facilities, financial support and technological advancements.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said that farmers are the backbone of the country’s food security, nutrition and prosperity. He noted that the government is making continuous efforts to ensure their welfare and economic stability.

Modi highlighted that flagship schemes such as PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and Fasal Bima Yojana are helping secure farmers’ incomes and providing greater financial security. He also pointed out that the PM-KUSUM scheme is making solar energy more accessible to farmers, thereby reducing cultivation costs.

The Prime Minister said the Kisan Credit Card scheme has been beneficial in providing easy and low-interest loans to farmers, livestock rearers and fishermen. He added that the government’s “seed to market” approach is helping ensure fair prices for agricultural produce.

Emphasising the importance of modernising agriculture, Modi said farmer welfare remains a top priority of the government. He noted that initiatives promoting the use of drones, soil health cards and natural fertilizers are helping farmers improve productivity and adopt sustainable farming practices.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the government will continue to focus on empowering farmers and enhancing the overall growth of the agricultural sector.
