Vice-President Congratulates Modi on Historic Milestone as Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister in India’s history.

In a message shared on social media, the Vice-President described the achievement as a historic milestone and said it reflected a transformative phase in India’s development journey under Modi’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for his congratulatory message. In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the milestone in Indian democracy was the result of the blessings, trust, and affection bestowed upon him by the people of the country.

Modi said the government would continue to work with greater determination towards the goal of building a developed, self-reliant, and prosperous India.

The Prime Minister also thanked Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh for his wishes. He said the occasion inspired him to serve the nation with even greater dedication, commitment, and sincerity.

Reaffirming the government’s guiding principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” Modi said his administration remains committed to the inclusive and holistic development of the country.

The congratulatory messages came as Modi surpassed the record of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to become the longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister in the nation’s history.
