Dressed as Cockroach, Activist Protests Yamuna Pollution at Mathura Civic Office

In a unique protest against the growing pollution in the Yamuna river, a social activist in Mathura arrived at the municipal corporation office dressed as a ‘cockroach’, drawing attention and amusement from officials and bystanders alike.

Social activist Deepak Sharma reached the civic body office on Friday wearing the unusual costume while singing and dancing to highlight what he described as the worsening environmental condition of the Yamuna and poor sanitation in the city.

Expressing concern over the river’s deteriorating state, Sharma warned that the situation could become more serious if immediate action was not taken to address pollution and waste management issues.Sharma said he adopted the cockroach appearance to “open the eyes” of what he termed “incompetent” officials, accusing them of ignoring the contamination of the Yamuna and the increasing filth across Mathura.

The unusual demonstration attracted considerable attention and sparked discussions among people present at the municipal office regarding the pollution crisis and civic negligence.

The Yamuna river has long faced concerns over pollution, with environmental activists repeatedly demanding stronger measures for its conservation and cleanliness.
