Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that in India, every day is dedicated to mothers, while sharing personal memories of his own mother.
Speaking at the launch of two books authored by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta — The Bench, the Bar and the Bizarre and The Lawful and the Awful — Shah said he used to touch his mother’s feet every day and continues to light a lamp before her photograph even after her death.
He said respect for mothers is deeply rooted in Indian culture and traditions, adding that every day in the country is devoted to honouring mothers.
