The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday termed the Enforcement Directorate’s action against Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora as politically motivated and accused the BJP-led Centre of targeting opposition leaders.
The party strongly criticised the ED raid at Arora’s residence in Chandigarh and his subsequent arrest, alleging that central agencies are being used to suppress opposition voices whenever the BJP faces political setbacks.
AAP leaders described the action as part of a larger campaign of political vendetta and called it an attack on Punjabi pride.
Earlier in the day, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Arora after conducting raids in connection with an alleged Rs 100 crore GST fraud-linked money laundering case involving entities reportedly associated with him, officials said.
