Hundreds of supporters of Vijay gathered at Nehru Indoor Stadium on Thursday expecting to witness the swearing-in ceremony of the TVK leader as chief minister, but returned disappointed after finding the venue closed.
Supporters who had travelled from different parts of Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore and Arumbakkam, said there was no official communication regarding the cancellation or postponement of the event.
Many fans and party workers expressed confusion and heartbreak, saying they had arrived early in the morning hoping to secure a place at the venue.
