CPM Calls Election Defeat Unexpected, Vows Course Correction

CPI(M) Kerala state secretary M. V. Govindan on Wednesday described the party’s electoral defeat as unexpected and said the Left would learn from the setback and make necessary corrections.

Addressing a press conference after the party’s state secretariat meeting, Govindan said the reasons behind the defeat would be examined in detail.

He added that meetings with all allied parties will be convened in May and June to gather feedback and assess the situation. “We will listen to all allies and conduct a thorough evaluation before taking corrective steps,” he said.

The CPI(M) leader expressed confidence that the Left would bounce back after implementing necessary changes.
