The Jammu–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express has received a strong response from passengers, with 8,925 people travelling on the route within the first two days of its launch, railway officials said on Sunday.
On its inaugural day, around 3,925 passengers used the service, while the number rose to over 5,000 on the second day, indicating growing demand.
Officials said the train is emerging as an affordable and comfortable travel option, with fares priced at ₹730 excluding catering charges. In comparison, airfares between Jammu and Srinagar typically range between ₹4,000 and ₹6,000.
The increasing passenger turnout highlights the popularity of the high-speed service and its potential to improve connectivity in the region.
