The annual pilgrimage to Adi Kailash and Om Parvat began in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district on Friday, with the first batch of over 350 devotees setting out for the high-altitude shrines.
The pilgrims, who arrived from different parts of the country, were flagged off from Dharchula by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashish Joshi.
Officials said the administration had received more than 500 applications for Inner Line Permits, out of which 350 permits have been issued so far.
The yatra is expected to continue in batches in the coming weeks, subject to weather and security conditions.
