Central Govt. Says No Fuel Price Hike After Assembly Polls

The Central government has clarified that there will be no increase in fuel prices even after the ongoing Assembly elections in five states are concluded.

The assurance comes amid the final phase of polling in West Bengal, where voting is underway on Tuesday.

Addressing concerns over a possible hike, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the government has no plans to raise fuel prices.

The statement follows widespread speculation that petrol and diesel prices could be increased after the elections. The ministry also assured that there would be no fuel shortage in the country and that it is working closely with states to manage supply and distribution effectively.
