EVMs Shifted to Strong Rooms After Polling Concludes in Tamil Nadu

With polling for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections concluding on Thursday evening, election officials have securely moved electronic voting machines (EVMs), VVPAT units, and other polling materials to designated strong rooms across the state.

According to the Election Commission of India, the sealed machines were transported under heavy security to 62 counting centres, where votes from all 234 constituencies will be counted on May 4.

Officials said the movement of EVMs was carried out under strict supervision, with the presence of police and armed forces to ensure safety and prevent any tampering.

Multi-layered security arrangements have been put in place at the counting centres, where the machines will be stored until the day of counting.
