Kerala Celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr; Special Prayers Held in Mosques and Eidgahs

Thiruvananthapuram: The state is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today with prayers, joy, and community gatherings. The Shawwal moon was sighted, as announced by joint Mahal Jamaat Qazis Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar and Syed Ibrahim Khalil Al-Bukhari, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

On the occasion of Eid, people gathered at Eidgahs and mosques across the state for special prayers in the morning. The festival is being observed by wearing new clothes, offering prayers, giving alms, and exchanging greetings with family and friends. Believers also ensure that Zakat al-Fitr is given before the Eid prayers.

Meanwhile, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar extended Eid greetings to the people of the state. In his message, he said the festival reflects values like discipline and compassion. He added that Eid should strengthen unity, peace, and progress in society.
