The Kerala High Court has stayed the release of the controversial film ‘Kerala Story 2’, citing concerns that it allegedly portrays Kerala and the Muslim community in a negative light. The court restrained the filmmakers from releasing the movie as scheduled on Friday, observing that the petitions challenging the film carry prima facie merit. A division bench led by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas directed the Censor Board to re-examine the film before any further decision on its screening is taken. The pleas seeking cancellation of the screening certificate will remain pending until the fresh review is completed.
