New Delhi: Marking a transformative moment in India’s administrative history, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate his new office complex, christened ‘Seva Teerth’, under the ambitious Central Vista redevelopment project. The name of the state-of-the-art complex will be formally unveiled at 1:30 pm, symbolising a shift from colonial-era governance structures to a modern, future-ready administrative hub.
Following the Cabinet meeting, Union Ministers and senior officials will begin relocating from the iconic South Block to the new premises. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) will operate from Seva Teerth-1, equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and enhanced security features. The complex also includes a specially designed ‘India House’ to host high-level engagements with foreign dignitaries.
Seva Teerth-2 will house the Cabinet Secretariat, while Seva Teerth-3 will accommodate the National Security Council Secretariat along with the office of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The Cabinet Secretariat has already shifted from Rashtrapati Bhavan to its new location.
With this transition, key ministries including Defence and External Affairs are also set to vacate South Block in the coming weeks. The government plans to convert the historic building into a museum, preserving its legacy while ushering in a new era of governance defined by efficiency, transparency, and modern infrastructure.
