BJP Strengthens Kerala Leadership: Reji Lukose Named State Spokesperson, Srividya Rajesh to Lead Idukki North

Thiruvananthapuram: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced key organisational appointments in Kerala, signalling a renewed push to strengthen its leadership structure. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has appointed Reji Lukose as the party’s state spokesperson.

A former Left fellow traveller, Reji Lukose joined the BJP on January 8, citing the party’s development-driven vision championed by the national leadership as the primary reason for his political shift. Reji Lukose also criticised the CPI(M), accusing it of pursuing communal polarisation in Kerala, and cautioned that adherence to what he termed “outdated ideologies” could push the state towards becoming an ageing society.

In another major decision, Srividya Rajesh has been appointed as the BJP Idukki North District President. Supporting her leadership, V. N. Suresh, Shashi Chalakkal, and Sumesh Moonnar have been named as general secretaries of the district unit. Meanwhile, former district president P. P. Sanu has been elevated as a member of the BJP state committee.

The appointments are seen as part of the BJP’s broader strategy to consolidate its organisational base and sharpen its political messaging in Kerala.
