India vs New Zealand T20 in Thiruvananthapuram: Ticket Sales Open Today, Excitement Peaks

Thiruvananthapuram: With just 10 days to go for the much-anticipated India–New Zealand T20 match at the Greenfield International Stadium, Karyavattom, ticket sales will officially begin today, setting the stage for a cricketing celebration in Kerala’s capital.

The tickets will be formally launched at an evening ceremony by popular actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, while Kerala Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman will attend the event as the chief guest.

Cricket enthusiasts had earlier voiced strong criticism against the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for delaying the ticket sale despite the match drawing closer. Responding to the mounting pressure, the KCA has now released details regarding ticket availability.

Adding to the buzz is the inclusion of Kerala’s own Sanju Samson in the Indian squad for the series. Fans are eagerly hoping to see the star wicketkeeper-batter take the field at his home venue, making the occasion even more special.

Sources indicate that ticket prices for the match will be on par with those charged for the recent India–Sri Lanka women’s T20 matches at the same stadium. The last men’s international fixture hosted in Thiruvananthapuram was in 2023, when India took on Australia in a T20 match, with ticket prices ranging from ₹750 to ₹10,000.

With international men’s cricket returning to the city after two years, anticipation is running high, and the Greenfield Stadium is expected to witness a full house and electrifying atmosphere when India face New Zealand in this blockbuster encounter.
